Meet David Deighton
From Dalmally, Argyll, David moved with his family to Bedford, where he grew up with three siblings, attending Newnham School, and eventually entered a career in IT that took him around the world, culminating in a ten-year sojourn at the University of Birmingham as Chief Enterprise Architect and Chief Information Security Officer. He holds an MSc in Software Engineering from the University of Oxford and is an experienced speaker at technology and higher education conferences. Retiring in 2021, after the loss of his wife, Geraldine, he returned to his home village of Dalmally and focused on writing.
